Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the facility Administrator, the facility Maintenance Director is responsible for ensuring that the facility is well maintained and remains in a safe and comfortable manner for the residents, while maintaining regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with auditing facility compliance with all Life Safety regulations, correcting deficiencies when discovered

• May be required to assist with facilitating outside services, as required; ensuring that all services are rendered properly and in accordance with work orders and/or contacts; utilizing vendors from outside the entity is done in conjunction with the facility administrator and Regional Project Manager.

• Assist with maintaining/updating facility preventative maintenance schedule, as required

• Conduct regular walk-throughs with facility administrator to ensure appropriate maintenance procedures are being rendered to best meet the needs of the facility

• May be required to perform some electrical and plumbing repairs, as needed, within the scope of candidate’s expertise

• May be required to perform carpentry and other building repairs, as needed, within the scope of candidate’s expertise

• Responsible for removal of snow and ice from all parking lot(s) and sidewalk areas, as required

• Other maintenance duties as directed by the facility Administrator and/or Regional Project Manager

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass a background check

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Ability to read, write and following oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job

• CPR Certification preferred

• Candidate MUST have experience in the following areas: electrical (outlets/fixtures/ballast/etc.), Plumbing (residential), Paint, Tile, Drywall, Lighting, Windows and Doors

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a maintenance technician required; experience within a Long-Term Care environment preferred

Physical and Mental requirements:

• Genuine interest and compassion for caring for elderly and disabled people within a long-term care setting

• Must be able to lift, bend, climb, reach, push, and pull up as required

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm

• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates

• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

• Must have excellent communications skills
